He had the following children:

210 F i Katherine STOFORD DE STOFORD was born about 1450.
Katherine married John CORITON. John was born in 1447 in Cornwall.

William CAYLLEWAYE (William CAYLLEWAYE , William CAYLLEWAYE , John CAYLLEWAYE , Edmund CAYLLEWAYE , William K\C , John 3 the Younger LE CALAWE , John 1 LE CALEWE , Elias 2 DE CHAILLEWEY , Elias 1 DE CAILLEWAY , Nicholas DE CHAILLEWAY , Phillip1 DE CHAILLEWAY , Philip , William , Guillame , Osbern ) was born in 1462 in Sherbourne. He died after 1519.

Was still holding Bapton in 1519 whch came from the Barretts via his first wife who was dau of Henry Barrett.

Is this the same William?
Nearly 200 years later, in 1492, William C/K of Marnhull made bequests to the churches of Stalbridge, Hentsridge, Fifhed and Milborne Port.
We know where Stalbridge is located. Haydon, Caundle Marsh and Bishop's Caundle, apparently known as Caundle-Haddon, are now just East of Upway.
Fifhead (Fifhed Magdalene) borders Marnhull on the North.
Henstridge and Milborne Port adjoin each other in Somerset, adjoining the Dorset border.
In 1492, the year of Columbus, William Kelway, of Marnhull, made bequests to several churches. His wife Elizabeth is referred to, and Thomas Kelway was an overseer.

William married dau of STANTER, daughter of ?Peter STANTER. dau was born in of Horningsham, Wilts.

They had the following children:

  211 M i William CAYLLEWAYE was born in 1485.
212 M ii Peter CAYLLEWAYE was born about 1500. He died after 1569.

Peter was on the 1525 subsidy roll of Clifton Maybank. He married Alys, the widow of Robert Bishop, and she was admx. of the estate of her son,?John? Bishop. In a court case they were at odds with Horsey over some property at Mappowder. Peter then appears on the muster roll at Mappowder, and the next and last sighting of him was at Milton Abbas. I can find nothing on Peter after that, but he was interesting to me as a possible link to my Peter Callaway of Maryland.
        Peter married Alys.

185. Agnes CAYLLEWAYE (William CAYLLEWAYE , William CAYLLEWAYE , John CAYLLEWAYE , Edmund CAYLLEWAYE , William K\C , John 3 the Younger LE CALAWE , John 1 LE CALEWE , Elias 2 DE CHAILLEWEY , Elias 1 DE CAILLEWAY , Nicholas DE CHAILLEWAY , Phillip1 DE CHAILLEWAY , Philip , William , Guillame , Osbern ) was born about 1466.

I learned something else the other day that some of the others might find interesting. The Pomeroy who came to New England: Massachusetts & Connecticut, was a descendant of our Thomas Pomeroy and Agnes Kayleway.
Sherrill

Agnes married Thomas POMEROY, son of Henry POMEROY and Alice RALEIGH. Thomas was born in of Berry Pomeroy.

They had the following children:

  213 F i Agnes POMEROY.
  214 F ii Anna POMEROY.
  215 F iii Margaret POMEROY.
  216 F iv Thomasine POMEROY.

  219 M vii Richard POMEROY.

187. Thomas K\C (William CAYLLEWAYE , William CAYLLEWAYE , John CAYLLEWAYE , Edmund CAYLLEWAYE , William K\C , John 3 the Younger LE CALAWE , John 1 LE CALEWE , Elias 2 DE CHAILLEWEY , Elias 1 DE CAILLEWAY , Nicholas DE CHAILLEWAY , Phillip1 DE CHAILLEWAY , Philip , William , Guillame , Osbern ) was born about 1470. He died before 1521.

Co-Heir of William Cammell.

Writ to the Sheriff of Somerset requiring Thomas Hymerford gent. of Coker to answer Robert Keylwey son and administrator of goods of Thomas Keylwey gent. of Sherbourne, Dorset, intestate, on plea of debt and detinue, 11th July 12 Henry (VII or VIII) 1496-1497 or 1520-1521

The ownership of an estate in BAPTON, then claimed as a 'manor', was contested in the early 16th century between members of the Kellaway family and other suitors. Some time between 1486 and 1493 or between 1504 and 1505 a Thomas Hymerford claimed to have been seised of the 'manor', but to have been deprived of the deeds by Thomas Kellaway, (fn. 68) and in the period 1532–44 Edmund, son of Thomas Estcourt, laid a similar charge against Robert Kellaway. (fn. 69) In 1545 a John Kellaway was living in Bapton, (fn. 70) and it was no doubt he who in 1566 bought out Edmund Estcourt's interests in Fisherton and other places (fn. 71) and who died in 1568 seised of a capital messuage and lands in Bapton and Tisbury, held of the Marquess of Winchester as of Fisherton manor. (fn. 72) There is some reason to think that Robert and Thomas Kellaway, mentioned above, were respectively his father and grandfather. (fn. 73) If this is so, then John's great-grandfather was called William Kellaway. William married a Joan Barret, and in 1413 a John Barret was holding land in Bapton, Tisbury, and other nearby places, which he acquired from his cousin, Thomas Payne, who, in his turn, had acquired them from his father-in-law, John Ellis. This Ellis had another son-in-law, called Walter Estcott—presumably the same as Estcourt. (fn. 74) It is possible that it was through the gift of John Payne to John Barret that the Kellaway lands in Bapton were first acquired and the claim to those lands by Edmund Estcourt first set up.
John Kellaway was succeeded in the capital messuage by his son Henry. (fn. 75) He and his son Robert leased the property to Joan Hibberd and Henry Hoskins, her son, in succession, and in 1599 this lease was renewed to Hoskins alone. This second lease took effect about 1620. (fn. 76) In 1625 Robert Kellaway, his son Robert, and a third person sold the freehold, under the name of Bapton Farm, to Sir Edward Wardour, (fn. 77) who by 1627 had also acquired the interest in the lease of 1599. (fn. 78) Wardour, in turn, sold it in 1627 to John Davis, a yeoman from North Wraxall, (fn. 79)

Thomas married LEWESTON OF DORSET, daughter of John LEWESTON OF DORSET.

Robert, however, is usually shown as "of Lillington"
as was his 2nd son, Martin. Robert died in Dorset, most likely at Lillington. Robert married Joan Marshall whose mother was a Fitzjames from Redlinch in Somerset. Lillington is within a stone's throw of 'Leweston' - the home of John Leweston who married Joan? nee Culpeper, widow of a Fitzjames of Redlinch, Som. Their tomb is in St Catherine's chapel, Sherborne Abbey. The historians have said that John Leweston 'disowned' his only daughter, and left his estate to his stepson, John Fitzjames. We then assume that it is this 'disowned' Leweston daughter who married the Kayleway.

Here is another Dorset property reference, found in the IPM of Walter Cheverell, writ dated at Westminster 30 Nov 21 Edw IV (1481); Inquisition taken at Dorchestre 26 Oct 22 Edw. IV.
Refers to: "And the said Walter was also seised jointly with the said Christina his wife, to them and the heirs of their bodies of and in the manors of Est Stoke Cauntemarll and Hevedon as more fully appears by a charter, shewn to the jurors, dated 12th May 7 Edw IV (1467)thereof made by JOHN KAYLWAY, William Leweston and John Russell to the said Walter and Christia."

Thomas and LEWESTON OF DORSET had the following children:

+ 220 M i Robert K\C was born about 1500 and died in 1558.
+ 221 M ii William K\C was born about 1505.
